Our story

Made slowly, on purpose.

A neighbourhood coffee house built around one idea: that a good morning is worth taking seriously.

Chapter one

The ritual.

There is a moment, just after the first sip, when the day hasn't started yet. We built a room for that moment.

Our coffee is simple on purpose: a sweet, balanced house blend for milk drinks, a brighter single origin for black coffee, and a decaf that gets the same attention as everything else. We taste every batch, and we throw out the ones that miss.

Craft

From bean to cup.

Four stages, each with a person paying attention.

  1. 01

    The green bean

Coffee is chosen on the cupping table, tasted blind, and bought for sweetness and balance rather than for a story on the bag.

  2. 02

    The roast

Small batches, developed slowly so the sugars caramelise without the smoke. Rested for a week before it reaches the hopper.

  3. 03

    The grind

Ground to order, seconds before extraction. Burrs are cleaned nightly and the grinder is re-dialled with every bag.

  4. 04

    The pour

Twenty-eight seconds, give or take. Milk steamed to a glossy paint. The cup is warm before the coffee touches it.

What we care about

The house rules.

  • Dialled in daily

Every morning starts with a shot we taste before the first customer walks in. Grind, dose and time change with the weather, so we adjust.

  • Room to linger

Timber tables, soft green seating and plenty of daylight. Bring a laptop, a book, or a friend; nobody will hurry you out.

  • Made with care

Pastries laminated the day before and baked at dawn. Syrups made in-house. Milk steamed to the texture each drink needs.

  • A neighbourhood place

We know regulars by their order. The counter is where the morning news is traded and the weekend is planned.

Timeline

How we got here.

  1. Year 1

    A counter and six stools

One espresso machine, a borrowed grinder and a short menu we could do properly.

  2. Year 2

    The bakery joins

Laminated pastry made in-house, croissants from 7 am until they sell out.

  3. Year 3

    Beans go home

The house blend moves from the hopper to the shelf; retail bags and a ceramic cup follow.

  4. Today

    The slow morning

A full room, a longer menu, and the same rule: nothing on the bar we would not drink ourselves.
